HOW TO PLAY: SILHOUETTE
The goal
Silhouette shows a pixel outline of the mystery player's pose and nothing else. Your job is to name them in four guesses. It is a lighter, faster cousin of the main guessing game, and it rewards knowing the league rather than grinding through stats.
How the clues work
You start with only the outline. Each wrong guess unlocks one clue, always in the same order. The first clue is the conference, East or West. The second is the player's position. The third is a height band: under 190 cm, 190 to 205 cm, or over 205 cm.
Because the order never changes, you can plan around it. Your first guess is a pure hunch based on the shape. By your second you know the conference, by the third you know the position too, and by the fourth guess you have all three clues to work with. A wrong guess is never wasted, since it always buys you the next piece of information.
Picking your guesses
Use the search box to choose a player. If a name is not in the list, it is not in the daily pool, so try another spelling or a different player. Once you pick someone, the guess is submitted straight away. Think about who fits the outline before you tap, because you only have four tries in total.
Daily reset and streaks
A new silhouette appears every day at 11:00 UTC (6 AM EST / 7 AM EDT). Solving it keeps your daily streak alive, exactly like solving the guessing puzzle does. The streak counts consecutive days on which you solved at least one daily puzzle (Guess, Silhouette, Grid or Connections), so you only need one of them. Practice rounds never count.
Tips
Look at the stance first. A player mid-dunk, a shooter with a follow-through and a ball-handler in a crouch all point to different positions, even before the position clue unlocks. Use the early guess to test a bold idea, since the clues will rescue you afterwards.
